Q. What are some things to consider when selecting the site for the pool?

A. When planning your pool site, you must consider how you want the pool to fit in with your lifestyle. If you have children, can the pool be easily monitored from different points in your home, such as the kitchen? Is the pool easily accessible from the family room, restroom, or deck? You want your pool to be convenient to access and strategically located in a way that prevents wet swimmers from needing to go inside your home. It is also important to locate your pool where there is adequate sunshine and few overhanging trees that will litter your pool with leaves and other debris. Other factors to consider include locating your pool so it fits in aesthetically with the rest of your property and ensuring that it is far enough not to disturb your neighbors.

The location and space in which you install your pool can determine the size as well as the style. The design you prefer or that is best suited for its surroundings may differ depending on whether the pool is located closer to your home, or farther out in the yard where it can blend in more with its natural surroundings. You should also take into account how you plan on using the pool now, and how those plans may change in the future; teens may want a deeper pool that facilitates playing games and diving, while older adults may prefer a shallower pool for leisurely dips or low-impact exercise, such as water aerobics. After the equipment is set, the interior plaster or pebble teck finish is then applied. After cleaning, the pool is filled and ready to go!

Utility companies, such as for water, gas, or electricity, need to be contacted to ensure that no pipes or cables are located in the area in which you wish to build.
